Fire-retardant materials can include intumescent coatings, fire-resistant paints, polyurethane foams, fire-resistant gypsum boards, as well as special fire-resistant coatings and cladding materials. These materials are used to reduce the spread of fire, prevent its penetration into structures, and enhance the fire resistance of buildings and structures.
Fire-retardant limit is the time interval during which building structures or materials can withstand high temperatures and flame exposure while maintaining their structural integrity. It is measured in minutes and is a crucial parameter in evaluating the fire safety of buildings. A higher fire resistance rating provides additional time for evacuation and firefighting efforts.
