GEFEST-3S: Structural fire protection

GEFEST-3S

Structural fire-retardant coating, based on Portland cement, expanded perlite, vermiculite, and targeted additives, is used for fire protection of steel and reinforced concrete structures. Application is carried out by wet gunning with plastering stations and manually.
GEFEST–3S is applied to achieve fire resistance levels of 1 to 7 according to GOST R 53295.
Fire-retardant ranges from R15 to R240 according to GOST 30247.

DESCRIPTION

The constructional fire-retardant coating "Gefest-3S" is a system consisting of an anti-corrosion primer (concrete-contact or acrylic-based primer), fire-retardant coating, and an additional (protective, decorative) layer applied as needed. The coating is designed for use in all types of atmospheres according to GOST 15150, excluding direct exposure to precipitation.

STORAGE CONDITIONS

Transportation and storage of the composition are carried out in the manufacturer's factory packaging, excluding direct exposure to moisture and damage to the integrity of the packaging.
The plaster should be stored in closed warehouse premises.
The warranty storage period is 24 months from the date of manufacture.

IMPORTANT LEGISLATIVE CHANGE

According to paragraph 5.4.3 of SP 2.13130.2020 "Fire Protection Systems. Ensuring the Fire Resistance of Protected Objects" in the edition of September 12, 2020, to achieve the required fire resistance of load-bearing elements of buildings of I and II degrees of fire-retardant, the use of expanding fire-retardant coatings with a PTM below 5.8 mm is not allowed.

Here you will find answers to frequently asked questions

What is structural fire protection?
Structural fire protection is a set of measures and materials aimed at enhancing the resistance of building structures to high temperatures in the event of a fire. It involves the use of special fire-resistant coatings, materials, and structural solutions to prevent or delay the spread of fire, ensuring the safety of buildings and structures.
What types of fire-retardant materials exist?
Fire-retardant materials can include intumescent coatings, fire-resistant paints, polyurethane foams, fire-resistant gypsum boards, as well as special fire-resistant coatings and cladding materials. These materials are used to reduce the spread of fire, prevent its penetration into structures, and enhance the fire resistance of buildings and structures.
What is the fire-retardant limit?
Fire-retardant limit is the time interval during which building structures or materials can withstand high temperatures and flame exposure while maintaining their structural integrity. It is measured in minutes and is a crucial parameter in evaluating the fire safety of buildings. A higher fire resistance rating provides additional time for evacuation and firefighting efforts.
